Silverdale Holiday Centre About Leeds Children's Holiday Camp Association
Silverdale Holiday Centre

Leeds Children’s Holiday Camp Association has been providing free holidays/respite to disadvantaged children aged 7 to 11 years for over 100 years.  The Lady Mayoress of Leeds is the President of the charity by rite of her Civic position and tradition, subject to her consent.

From March until September every year, 300 holiday places are allocated to children who enjoy a five-day break by the sea.  The centre provides respite for children who are disadvantaged for various reasons, including poverty, neglect, abuse, disability, homelessness, victims of domestic violence, children who are young carers, those who are in foster or social care, and children from vulnerable ethnic minority groups.

Leeds Children’s Holiday Camp Association is managed by a Board of Trustees that is bound by the charity’s governing Constitution and Rules.  There are currently 15 Trustees who actively promote the purpose of the charity, and who work continually to raise awareness and much needed funds and resources.

The charity’s accounts are audited annually, and these accounts can be seen on the Charity Commission’s website, www.guidestar.org.uk.

The names of all the current Trustees together with copies of the Constitution and Rules and audited accounts are available at the charity’s office in Leeds should anyone wish to see them.

This highly respected registered charity survives upon the support of donations and assistance from Leeds City Council Early Years and Youth Units.
