Leeds Children’s Holiday Camp Association has been providing free holidays to Leeds primary school children in need at Silverdale, Morecambe, for over 100 years. This highly respected registered charity survives upon the support of donations and a grant from Leeds City Council. The Lady Mayoress of Leeds is the President of the charity by rite of her Civic position and tradition, subject to her consent.

From March until September over 275 children every year enjoy a five-day break by the sea. The centre provides respite for children from low income families, families suffering from illness or children who spend their time as an unpaid carer.

Leeds Children’s Holiday Camp Association is run by a Board of Trustees which is bound by the charity’s governing Constitution and Rules. There are currently 14 Trustees who are all actively promoting the purpose of the charity, and who work continually to raise awareness and much needed funds and resources.

The charity’s accounts are audited annually, and these accounts can be seen on the Charity Commission’s website, www.guidestar.org.uk.

The names of all the current Trustees together with copies of the Constitution and audited accounts are all available at the charity’s office in Leeds should anyone wish to see them.
